Madeline (Evans) Tew, of Laurel, MS, entered eternal rest on December 31st, 2023. Madeline was born in New Orleans on November 25th, 1942, to Maurice Evans and Lois Graser Evans. She and her husband, Dwight Kimble Tew, just celebrated their 50th year of marriage.
Madeline was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Lois, her son, Michael Willis, and brother, Gerald Evans. She is survived by her husband, Kimble, and her sons, Scott (Elizabeth) Tew and Chad Willis. Madeline loved and cherished her three grandsons: Harrison (Jacqueline) Tew, Hayden (Morgan) Tew, and Hunter (Sarah) Tew, and her great-grandson, Arthur Tew.
Madeline, a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, was an avid hunter and fisher. She adored riding her horses; some of her favorites being Shakin’ for Cash, who Madeline rode to a World Championship, and She’s Busted In Tijuana, who she rode to a Reserve World Championship. Madeline also loved spending time with her dog, Lilly. She enjoyed working with her husband, Kimble, to decorate their home and farm. Most of all, Madeline was a loving and generous friend to many and will be fondly remembered.
Madeline’s visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3rd from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Freeman Funeral Home in Waynesboro. A graveside service at Waynesboro Cemetery will follow. Reverend Jason Sehon and Reverend Troy Hobson will officiate the service.
