Justified Honors Recovering From Colic Surgery

Yesterday evening at Callaway Stables Justified Honors showed colic symptoms. He was taken immediately to Baum Equine Clinic where he underwent surgery and is recovering today at the clinic.  He is doing well and showing good signs.

FAST, INC. LAUNCHES NEW WEBSITE

The Foundation for the Advancement and Support of the Tennessee Walking Horse, Incorporated aka FAST, Inc. was organized in 2009 by the late Katherine Zeis Shelbyville, TN and Dr. Kasey Kesselring of Wartrace, TN.  “Kathy and I served on the TWHBEA International Board of Directors and the Executive Committee together and came to the conclusion that a foundation was needed specifically to support the show horse, “

SHOW updates ethics and rules requirements for Judges

During the 2025 SHOW Judges’ a discussion was had regarding if owners could show horses in front of a judge that they had horses in training with. Under the 2024 rules, an owner could show a horse that they owned in front of a judge that was also a professional trainer that the same owner also had horses in training.

USDA postpones remaining portion of HPA Rule

The United States Department of Agriculture postponed the effective date of the Horse Protection Rule until February 1, 2026. This postponement means that the Horse Industry Organizations will remain in effect for at least the 2025 show season.

Obituary – Thomas Aaron Smith

Thomas Aaron Smith, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and pillar of the Bedford County, Tennessee community, passed away on March 5, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on November 2, 1936, to John Alonzo Smith and Mary Etta Ball Smith, Thomas lived his entire life in Bedford County, where he left an enduring mark through his dedication to his family, faith, and community service.
